R. Chase Grier's (waaay late) Photo Story

My two nephews, Jessie James and Josiah Jamaal are the pride and joy of my life. I can never wait to see them, and enjoy more than anything watching them grow and mature into the little gentlemen that they are. My last visit to their new digs in Dover, Delaware saw a trip to Silverlake Park, the local park and lake closest to their home.

The boys doing homework after waking up, before really getting a start on the day's activities.

It always takes the boys an eternity to get dressed, especially when they have all their playthings about the house, waiting to be a distraction.
Finally, we all make it to the park and the boys are off and...walking.

Jessie is big on climbing and his own little adventures, especially when no one else is around.

Both kids adore their Mommy, my sister Erin. This little lady loves her kids more than anything, but is also quite the fashionista, always rockin' the Jackie-O shades and whatever those hip kids are wearing these days.

Josiah loves watching and imitating the "big" kids on the playground, which today meant attempting a shot at the monkey bars in his favorite costume, the Hulk. They always travel with multiple changes of clothes in case of accident or spillage - or as seen here, in case the boys wanna play dress up and play superhero on the playground.

Clothes brought along also included rainboots for the inevitable playtime in the lake. Here is Jessie in his evil Spiderman costume, alongside his older brother Josiah the Hulk.

After getting out of the water, the kids always complain about being wet and dirty. If only they'd learn that their actions have consequences, and when I tell them their going to be wet and dirty after getting out of the water, they would actually believe they were going to be (surprise, surprise) wet and dirty.
